feeding: My newborn (6 days) keeps falling asleep during feedings.?

With a newborn when feeding, I found it was best to feed on demand (even if it's every hour)...it gets frustrating, but it's best for baby and best to keep your milk supply up. If you can shoot for 15 minutes...that's great, but let's face it...it doesn't always happen. You can play with his hands, feet, and face to keep him awake...strip him down to his diaper and try talking or singing an upbeat song to keep him awake during feedings...make funny sounds..all of that goes a long way. It's tough the first month of feeding, but it does get better (going on 10 months here!)...congrats to you for sticking with it!! Best of luck!
