Christians: Want more respect from non-Christians? then kindly remove all references to Hell from your Bible?
Your vision of hell owes more to Dante than to the Bible, so you should probably be directing your ire towards the Inferno. There are three words in the Bible that are translated as "hell": sheol, hades, and Gehenna. Sheol and hades are just dark dimensions of the dead, and everyone goes there. Gehenna was an actual valley outside of Jerusalem that used to be used for pagan sacrifices, and it's a metaphor for God's judgment, which is destruction, not eternal torture.
