How to hook up surround sound to tv or satellite...?
Is your tv hooked up to a cable or a disc network box? From your cable or disc network connect an HDMI cable (if available, if not use component cable 3 cable color code in 3 colors) and connect it to your surround sound system. If you use component you need an optical or coax cable for the digital sound connection to your surround sound also. HDMI carries video and audio in one cable. From your surround sound connect an HDMI cable to your tv input section (labled HDMI 1 and two) and select that input on your tv source of input when playing the tv, you also need to turn your surround sound system on and select the source were you inputed the cable hook up (sample cable tv). You control the sound from the surround sound system. Or you can connect the cable or disc network directly to the tv and another connection to the surround sound. Using the HDMI cable is the best connection and the easies way. Hope this helps.
