My bone marrow has been tested - would the doctor keep that on file? How does it work if I want to?

place my name on a donor list . Who would pay for the actual operation (transfusion). Would my insurance cover that and would I have to pay the deductable or are there some charitable organizations that cover that sort of thing? Has anyone ever done this type of thing? If you did what was your experience? Please share it with me.
