Salaam Alaikum. Is there any way for me to feel better?

Well I am not a muslim, but regarding the man who you wanted marry.. you say he was very interested in your way of life. The thing is that religions are very interesting and I am sure he wanted to know all about your customs and traditions and the way you view life. However being interested in a religion or ideology and conforming to it are two very different things. It would be difficult and very demanding for a non muslim to convert to your way of life. It is a very serious decision. I think the only way would be if he found faith, or as you say, that Allah would show him the way. If this does not happen then I think you should accept it.. even though it's hard, you will find someone else. You are a pious Muslim so I think it's important to you to be with someone who is genuine about their beliefs just like you are. You need to find someone equally devout.
