Is something going terribly wrong with the world?

Or is it just my eyes opening up to the sad, ruthless, ugly truth of life ? Lack of resources like water and oil, wars because of greed, perverted acts, increasing drug use, decreasing age for drug use, casual , crime; uneven and unfair distribution of wealth, more and more materialistic world, human and humane values being forgotten, and those who refuse to forget being labelled lame and losers. Mes deceived, mes macred, killed, lied to. Was it always this way ? Or was I blind to reality until recently ?
