At what age did you feel like you have done your innings with regard to going to work.?

As long as it takes for me to earn and save enough money to take care of myself for the rest of my life. No one else, including the government, should have to pay for me. Once my retirement fund hits a certain amount of money, you will find me relaxing on the beach or in a log cabin (depending on the time of year) for the rest of my life.
